If taking on obstacles and getting down and dirty in the mud for charity is your kind of thing, the you've definitely got to sign up to this.

Saint Francis Hospice has teamed up with St Clare Hospice, in Harlow, for Mission Mud, a messy 5k challenge at Nuclear Races, Kelvedon Hatch, which is well known for its wet, muddy and adventurous events.

From bouncy obstacles to a high-in-the-sky zip wire, there is plenty of fun to be had during the entire course.

No experience is necessary, just bucket loads of determination to complete the challenge - everyone is also recommended to bring a change of clothes!

Event manager Chris Franklin said: “We’ve teamed up with St Clare Hospice in Harlow to raise wide awareness of hospice as well as much needed for our specialist care services.

“This is a really exciting event if you are up for a muddy adventure!

“There will be a variety of obstacles along the 5k course to get your adrenalin pumping and keep you on your toes!

“So come on, challenge yourself this autumn and sign up today!”

Mission Mud takes place on Sunday, October 7.
