The team behind a top hairdressers is “proud” to have won the title of Best Salon in Essex.
Spargo Hairdressing, Weald Road, Brentwood, attended the Essex Salon Awards which took place at Orsett Hall, and saw the very best talent from across the region come together to celebrate people’s hairdressing achievements.
More than 250 hair industry professionals applauded Spargo for their double-win, as salon owner, Ian Marshall as well as winner of Best Stylist Ellie Bond, collected their trophies.
Ian said: “This is such an important award to win and we are so proud to be an independent, Essex salon.
“Ours is a salon which prides itself on delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring our staff receive the very best training, through our in-house academy, to enable their success and development.
“I started Spargo more than 10 years ago with the intention of making it the best salon I could, and this award shows I have done that.
“Who’d have thought a builder turned hairdresser would be the recipient of the Best Salon in Essex Award, but I am!
Judged by industry greats including president of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing Karine Jackson, MBE Errol Douglas and This Morning’s Jamie Stevens among others, the awards shone a spotlight on those who inspire and lead the way in the hairdressing industry at a local level.
Winner of Best Stylist Ellie who works at Spargo Hairdressing, was named as a “future talent” last year at the awards.
She said: “I feel overwhelmed to have received this award, just 12 months after being recognised as a rising star.
“I love working at Spargo and have had the best year working with some incredible clients.
“Their trust in me has helped me to develop in confidence and perfect my skills, so I’d like to share this win with them – thank you.”
Ian added: “I am so proud of Ellie. She not only has the creative flair and technical dexterity required of a top stylist, but she is the kindest and most dedicated person I know.
“Like all businesses we have experienced tough times but thanks to Ellie’s incredible work ethic she has helped Spargo to grow and thrive.
“A well-deserved win.”
This is the second set of awards Spargo has won this year, first collecting the title of ‘Innovation of the Year’ at HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards in September for its sister salon, Spargoland – a salon which enables children and adults with additional support needs to have their hair cut, in a space designed exclusively for them.
