Hundreds flocked to the borough at the weekend to challenge themselves to this year’s Brentwood Half Marathon.
Starting off outside the St Thomas of Canterbury Church, runners prepared to tackle the 13.1miles head on for a number of worthy causes.
Many of this year’s runners were taking on the run in aid of Havering-atte-Bower charity Saint Francis Hospice.
Events manager at the hospice Chris Franklin said: “Congratulations to all our runners who took part in the Brentwood Half Marathon.
“It is thanks to the amazing efforts of our supporters that we are able to continue to be there for people when they need our specialist end of life care services.
“A big shout out to our awesome cheer squad who were rooting for you all the way and to the Rotary Club of Brentwood a Becket for ensuring the event is always so well organised.”
A spokeswoman for digital Brentwood printer Sportstiks, which sponsored the event, said: “We loved being a part of the 2019 Brentwood Half Marathon and Fun Run.
“Being title sponsors meant we’ve been working closely with the organisers over the last few months and have seen how dedicated the people from the Rotary of Brentwood a Becket are and what an amazing job they do and have done for the last 38 years.
“The atmosphere was incredibly positive throughout the day.
“We hope runners liked the extras we added to the event such as personalised race bibs, fun tattoos, pacers and extra special medals. “This event is an important local community fundraising event for many charities and we were proud to be fundraising for Kids Inspire on Sunday and will continue to do so throughout the year.”
