Our Dog of the Week from Wallace Kennels Dog Rescue is four-year-old springer spaniel and cocker spaniel cross (aka sprocker) Brandy.

Dee from the kennels in Chivers Road, Brentwood, said:"Brandy didn't make it as a police dog as he found the kennel aspect too stressful so he's coming back tomorrow and we will be on the search for his perfect family home.

"Brandy is 4-years-old, neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

"An active family home with a love of outdoors would suit this lad down to the ground as he does like to be busy.

"He knows and understands some commands, is house trained, travels well, has been fine walking with the dogs he has met but will be better probably as an only dog.

"He has lived with a cat (but that was his cat) and will be fine around children 5+.

"Brandy is looking for a home where he is not left for more than a couple of hours max as he has been used to someone home all day.

"He also needs a good couple of hours per day of exercise minimum as he is very active, 20 minutes round the block will not suit him at all."
