The snow might have evaporated as quickly as it came down earlier this week, but it fell just in time for skiers to practice with the perfect backdrop.
The Brentwood School Ski Team, ventured to the “dri” ski slope at Brentwood Park Ski and Snowboard Centre, Warley Gap, Warley, which was covered in snow as the school’s A Team - the Falcons - launched their bid for the Independent Schools Ski Championships in December.
Brentwood School has four ski teams - the Falcons, Eagles, Hawks and Swifts - with 12-15 pupils in each team.
Their inaugural season was off to the perfect start when they were able to train in real snow on Tuesday evening.
Praising the young skiers commitment, head of the Brentwood School ski team Zeta Fleming said: “It has been an incredibly strong start for the team.
“Our students were brilliant and such fantastic ambassadors for the school.
“The students all worked hard, listened carefully to advice and tried out all the technical skills and drills with enthusiasm and, most importantly, they had great fun.
“I would especially like to thank the staff at the ski slope for such excellent coaching and the School staff for their help supervising training.”
