Dee from the kennels in Chivers Road, Brentwood, said: “Rainbow (pink collar) and Starr (black collar), bonded five-year-old shih-tzu sisters, are looking for a home together.

“They are the sweetest pair of dogs you could wish to meet.

“Very loving and affectionate, house trained, walk extremely well on their harness and leads but are very protective and will bark at other oncoming dogs.

“They will not be separated.

“Rainbow can only manage 15 minute walks at a time as she has what they call a slow hip.

“We have had her x-rayed and she is currently on anti-inflammatory pain relief which seems to be helping.”

They have previously lived with an older child and a cat.

Both of them are now both spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
