Two former councillors were presented with the borough's highest accolades for their dedication to Brentwood.
The council bestowed the titles of Honorary Aldermen to David Tee and former Mayor of Brentwood Alan Davies.
Nominations for the honours were received at an Ordinary Council meeting earlier this year where councillors used their local knowledge to put forward those they felt were most deserving and had gone above and beyond while serving the borough and continued to do so after leaving the council chamber.
They were presented with their awards at Brentwood County High School, Seven Arches Road, Brentwood.
Mayor of Brentwood, Councillor Sheila Murhphy said: “It was a great honour to present these accolades, the honorary Aldermen, to two very special individuals.
“There are people within this borough who go over and beyond for others, and do not expect to be recognised for it.
“These two men are highly respected and have served their communities for many years.”
