Teachers at a school were delighted to hear that several of their pupils had come top in a regional art competition.
In October, children from Ursuline Preparatory School, Great Warley, had the opportunity to enter their artwork into the ISA (Independent Schools Association) Eastern Region Art Competition.
Pupils from Year 2 to Year 6 produced individual and group pieces for the contest.
Carlos Boxall’s 2D Bird Scene was highly commended with children from Year 3 and 4 awarded second place for their art work In Print as well as children from Year 5 for their 3D Pyramid.
The school was then thrilled to hear that Alexander Wells’ photograph Natuer and Year 3’s 3D Butterfly were presented with first place.
Those who were awarded first prize will now be entered into the National Art Competition which will take place before the end of the academic year.
Headmistress Pauline Wilson said: “I am very proud of our budding artists and the hard work that they have put into their group and individual pieces.
“I wish them well for the forthcoming competition!”
