I love going out for a curry on a Friday night and after a very long discussion about everyone's favourite Indian dishes in the office, it sounds like I'm not the only one.

So that's why Enjoy Brentwood More has put together a list of just some of the best Indian restaurants around - you're welcome!

Whenever I have asked about the best places to go for Indian food in the borough, The Raj, Kings Road, Brentwood, has popped up time and time again.

Describing itself as the “jewel in Brentwood’s curry crown”, it’s a fan favourite in the area with its stylish decor and delicious delicacies.

Pilgrim Korai

Located in Ongar Road, Pilgrims Hatch, this “authentic” Indian restaurant is a family run business which opened its doors in 1998.

Its creative menu is said to combine traditional, classic favourites with innovative dishes that give eastern flavours a western twist. Pilgrim Korai also boasts that it has a five-star rating for food hygiene.

Juboraj Tandoori

Serving Bengali-Indian cuisine, this is another popular choice in Warley Hill, Warley.

Having been open for more than three decades, visitors leaving reviews on Tripadvisor have said that it’s “very welcoming”, has “brilliant service” and “reasonably priced”.

Numerous people have also commented that it’s the “best in Brentwood”.

The chef at this curry house in High Street, Brentwood, who was named Chef of the Year in 2013, aims to serve up “tantalising” Asian-influenced modern dishes using fresh ingredients in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Visitors have said that the food is “amazing and affordable” and the “fantastic” service makes the place stand out from the rest.

Bongow Indian Cuisine

Situated in Swan Lane, Kelvedon Hatch, this is the village’s first ever Indian restaurant which overlooks a small pond.

The venue offers “high quality food” and has regular entertainment nights with a wide range of performers - including many tribute acts - catering for all different tastes in music.

On Tripadvisor, 79pc of people who visited rated it excellent.
