A Brentwood mum gave her daughter the best surprise she could ask for this Valentine’s Day as her ultimate celebrity crush, popstar Olly Murs, showed up to her work with a card, flowers and chocolates.
Debbie Richardson, 58, entered her daughter Clare, 20, into the competition on social media, and she was one of six girls the Dance With me star surprised out of the millions of entries.
Clare’s mum told the Recorder: “She was absolutely gob smacked. She works for Thomas Cook and when she went for her interview she had to book a holiday for a celebrity - and it was Olly Murs. So she always told me she had the dream that one day Olly would come in and ask for the holiday she had booked for him in her interview, but in the dream she wasn’t at work, and she missed him.”
Her mum said Clare, from West Horndon, wasn’t meant to be working on Valentine’s Day, but her boss asked her to come in because she was super busy, and lone behold a few hours later Olly Murs walked into the shop with a bouquet of roses, chocolates and a personal card for her.
“I don’t think we will ever eat the chocolates, and the flowers have done well to last this long. I’ve definitely got to have won the mum of the year award, she turns 21 in a few weeks and it was the perfect early birthday present.” said Debbie.
