Take a look at our picture from the past!

In 1914, the town’s very first cinema, the Electric Palace, opened in High Street, Brentwood.

But 20 years later, it was rebuilt as a modern cinema with 1,100 seats and renamed the Palace.

It eventually closed when a new Sainsbury’s was built on the site.
