Although Christmas has been and gone, a few children have still been about to enjoy the festive season after receiving their prizes from the Santa Hunt competition.

They were presented with their prizes at the Chicken and Frog Bookshop, Ongar Road, by the Mayor of Brentwood, Councillor Sheila Murphy.

Brentwood children have been given prizes after winning a Santa Hunt competition.

They were presented with their prizes at the Chicken and Frog bookshop in Ongar Road by the Mayor of Brentwood, Councillor Sheila Murphy.

Participants had to find the hidden Santas in 23 shops and businesses in Brentwood.

Each Santa had a letter, which spelled out the phrase “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” which they had to guess correctly to enter the prize draw.

The winners, Seren, Blake, Sarah, Marni, Summer, Holly and Bobby, were given a range of prizes from the participating shops, plus Moo Music and Aquatots.

Cllr Sheila Murphy thanked the shops and businesses who took part and provided the prizes, as well as the Chicken and Frog Bookshop for encouraging children to take part and for organising the event.

Natasha Radford from the bookshop said: “The Santa Hunt is a fun way of encouraging families to take a walk through the town.”
