Taking place on August, Saturday 31, at Shenfield High School, at Alexander Lane, Brentwood, the Discovery Day will be led by Stagecoach Brentwood principal Sasha Cairns and her creative team.

This taster session will give children the chance to discover the world of singing, dancing and acting in a safe and relaxed environment.

Since taking over as principal earlier this year, Sasha has helped Stagecoach Brentwood flourish.

As a long-standing member of the Stagecoach family, performing arts has been a major part of Sasha's life since she joined as a student at Stagecoach Colchester.

Since then, she has trained professionally in musical theatre and gone on to work as a professional performer while pursuing her other passion of teaching at various Stagecoach schools.

This Discovery Day will allow more local youngsters to thrive through the lessons that the performing arts teach.

Improved confidence and the ability to interact and connect with others are among the important life skills that Stagecoach aim to instil in its students.

Sasha said: "Our aim is to give as many Brentwood children as possible the opportunity to grow in confidence and learn important life skills through the performing arts - it's what Stagecoach calls 'Creative Courage for Life'.

"As such, we hope that our free Discovery Day will encourage children to come along and get a snapshot of what's on offer throughout each term.

"We have been extremely busy planning the year's curriculum and activities, as well as developing our great team of performing arts teachers and staff.

"Watch this space for more exciting events in store for 2019."

Stagecoach Brentwood is part of a network of 1800 extra-curricular performing arts schools worldwide.

Stagecoach aims to make a difference in its students' lives by teaching "Creative Courage for Life" and many children have gone on to study and work in performing arts from blockbuster films to countless roles in local theatre productions.

Early Stages classes are available for children aged four to six and Main Stages classes take place for six to 18-year-olds every weekend.
